Join the Salesians for a pilgrimage to Portugal and Spain to for the 26th World Youth Day festival!
Dates: August 8-22, 2011

Location: Portugal (Fatima) and Spain (Santiago de Compostela, Toledo, and Madrid)

Every three years, our Holy Father calls the youth of the world together for a gathering that has become known as the World Youth Day. These international festivals take place over the course of a week, culminating with a Papal Mass on Sunday.
Since WYD 1993 in Denver, Colorado, USA, the Salesians of Don Bosco of the Province of St. PHlip the Apostle have participated whole-heartedly, traveling to Denver, Manila, Paris, Rome, Toronto, Cologne, and Sydney.
World Youth Day 2011 - Madrid, Spain
At the end of World Youth Day 2008 in Sydney, Australia, Pope Benedict announced that he would see the youth of the world in 2011 in Madrid, Spain.
Plans are in place for the Salesian youth of the Eastern USA and Canada to take part in this great pilgrimage, centered around the theme, "Planted and built up in Jesus Christ, firm in the faith."
Know that this is a holy pilgrimage - not a vacation! Should you decide to commit to take part in this experience, you will be undertaking a spiritual journey that includes activities both before and after the actual trip to Portugal and Spain! |

Before you sign up to go, please consider the following:
- Realistically consider what you will be doing in the summer of 2011. For example, consider your work schedule, and whether or not you will be returning to school in the Fall.
- Carefully review your finances.
Consider your strategy for raising $2999 by June 2011.
- You must be at least 18 years old and out of high school for at least one full year before we depart. You can be no older than 30.
- You will be required to attend pre-pilgrimage retreats and take part in online formation sessions.
- Once you begin to put your money down, you cannot back out of this trip.
(Exceptions will be made for family or medical emergencies.)
- Talk things over with your family! Make sure everyone is on board.
