The three Salesian Leadership Retreats continue to be one of the central programs conducted by the Office of Youth Ministry. Every year, approximately 200 high school-aged students from around the Province (and beyond) gather at the Don Bosco Retreat Center at the Marian Shrine in Stony Point, NY. These youth are selected by their youth ministers and attend the Retreats as part of those home ministries.

The JLR is for high school aged youth at various Salesian youth centers, youth groups, oratories, Boys and Girls Clubs, etc. They are selected as part of their local ministry and attend the JLR as a member of that ministry. For three days, they pray, reflect, and play, focused on the theme, "At the Cross." To learn more about the January Leadership Retreat, click here.

The MLR gathers students from the Salesian high schools in the Eastern Province as they are nearing the end of their junior year. The juniors are selected by their faculty, staff, and peers, who have recognized them as leaders in their school community. The theme of the retreat is "the Oratory," and it prepares them to be leaders in their school communities as seniors the following fall. For more about the March Leadership Retreat, click here.

The OLR, similar to the MLR, is for students at the Salesian high schools in the Province. Also like the March retreat, the seniors are selected by the faculty, staff, and fellow students at their schools. It is designed for current seniors to reflect on "the Salesian Journey of Faith."
